Closed, Duo gives you a 5.4-inch outer display. Open it and the phone becomes a much larger workspace for multitasking, gaming, reading and immersive content.

The camera is good. The foldable camera experience is the real story.
Duo uses two 48MP rear cameras rather than the three-camera Pro system. It offers up to 2x optical-quality zoom, but no dedicated telephoto lens.

Foldable-only camera experiences
Smart Take, Duo Preview and Kid Cue are designed around the phone's two-sided form. The outer screen can also become part of the shooting experience, giving the Duo something a conventional iPhone cannot replicate.

A20 Pro is familiar. The foldable experience is not.
A20 Pro
Apple's A20 Pro powers Duo alongside the iPhone 18 Pro models. The important part for Duo is sustained performance across a much larger display and a more flexible multitasking interface.
iOS built around the fold
Apple has reworked iOS for Duo's different poses and orientations, including side-by-side apps, flexible viewing angles and hands-free experiences.
Battery life depends on which screen you use
Up to 44 hours video playback using the outer display.
Up to 31 hours video playback using the inner display.
Apple's stated usage figure when both displays are used equally.
These are Apple's test figures, not a promise of 44 hours of normal screen-on use. Duo also supports fast charging to 50% in around 20 minutes with a compatible 60W or higher adapter, plus MagSafe and Qi2 charging up to 25W.
Touch ID returns on iPhone Duo
Duo does not use Face ID. Apple places Touch ID in the side button, giving the foldable a different biometric setup from the iPhone 18 Pro Max.

iPhone Duo is eSIM-only worldwide
Apple says Duo uses dual eSIM and is not compatible with physical SIM cards. That makes carrier compatibility a first-step buying check for imported units.
